The NHL lockout has just added an advantage to your Victoria Grizzlies.
Former alumni and Colorado Avalanche Defenceman, Ryan O'Byrne who played two years for the Victoria Salsa/Grizzlies from 2001-03; has joined Bill Bestwick's coaching staff as an Asst Coach while things remain in limbo between the NHL and the players.
Ryan, who was selected 3rd round, 79th overall in the 2003 NHL draft, had spent 3 years at Cornell before pursuing his NHL dream playing the last six seasons with Montreal and now Colorado.
Bestwick's comments from the A-Channel interview today, touched on how much the Grizzlies players will benefit, learning and being around an NHLer like O'Byrne
