Captain Sean Robertson Traded to the Vernon Vipers

Wow, after 5 seasons and over 216 games in a Grizzlies uniform, Sean Robertson has been traded for futures to the Interior Conference's Vernon Vipers. A really upbeat guy, great with the fans and led by example on the ice, Sean will be missed by all at Bear Mountain Arena.
After an impressive rookie season where he partnered Jordie Benn in the 2007/08 season, Sean went on to play a franchise high 216 games in a Victoria uniform. Sean had a few ups and down in his Grizzlies career, but, always gave 110% on the ice. A nasty injury (leg break I believe) that Sean took in the opening game of the 2009/10 season was a tough one to bounce back from, which he did. That injury had ruled him out for most of that season.

After the Grizzlies traded Jake Baker to the Trail Smoke Eaters last season, Sean took on the mantle of  Grizzlies Captain, following in the footsteps of Grizz greats like Bozak, Nugent, Benn and Heywood.
No word on weather Sean has received a scholarship yet, but, I'm sure that's only a matter of time.

What is interesting from this trade is, what are the Grizzlies up to? Are they building and stocking up futures for next season? Are they clearing a roster spot for another 20 year old? Is this a trade to give Sean a certain shot at a post season with Vernon? I'm sure all will be come clear soon.

I know I speak for a number of Grizzlies fans, thank you and good luck with the Vipers, Sean!!!!!

In five seasons Sean Robertson's stats as a Grizzlies are:

Games Played            Goals             Assists      Total Points    Penalties

 216                                      12                       64                      76                      83
