Looking at the Victoria Grizzlies, as to be expected quite a few holes to be filled in the roster right now. The Grizzlies, who in all fairness did the right thing by loading up for next season with up to 10-12 futures, coming our way for the 2012/13.
The Grizzlies at the deadline parted with Murphy, Moran, Ten Vaanholt, Tucker, Collins and Woodyatt along with having Wes Myron done for the season with a shoulder injury.
This leaves one 20 yr old (Kevin Smith, if he doesn’t get picked up by another WHL team) and no Captain or Assistants on the ice right now. Although, Smith would be a great bet to fill in as Captain for the rest of the season.
The Grizzlies even with the addition of Smith, Schmeisser, McLellan and PIJHL goalie Nick Taylor coming into the lineup, we still have a few roster spots to fill.
We could see a number of talented VIJHL players or local Major Midget/AAA Midget players getting a chance in Grizzlies colours in the last 20 games or so left to play.

Mark McLellan : Part of the Grizzles trade with the Penticton Vees for Wade Murphy; the exciting 17 yr old prospect will be thrown right into the frey and will be looked on to be a big part of the Grizzlies futures. Mark, had played in 33 games for the Vees this year and under coach Harbinson and playing on that stacked team, can only have helped McLellan progression at the Jnr A level.

Kevin Smith : A WHL veteran, who has played 3 seasons with the Moose Jaw Warriors and the past two with the Kelowna Rockets. Smith, was a victim of the numbers game in Kelowna ,but, as you can see from his stats he is a good puck moving defensemen who will put up the points.
Could be a candidate to fill the Captain position.

Jaden Schmeisser: Has been an AP with the Grizzlies for the better part of the last 6 weeks performing well and hasn’t looked out of place. Jaden, 18, has played most of the season with the VIJHL’s Saanich Braves. Schmeisser doesn’t make a lot of mistake and has looked confident in his BCHL appearences. This should be a great opportunity from Schmeisser to established himself as a bonifide BCHL defencemen.

Nick Taylor: 19 yr old goaltender from Surrey, has played the last 3 seasons in the PIJHL and most recently with the Grandview Steelers. Taylor, looks like he will be backing up our new starter Rockafellow. Again, a great opportunity for a player to get a run of games in the BCHL.
