Not BCHL related, but, San Fransisco will have an expansion team in the ECHL for the 2012/13 season.
Where the bay area has had the NHL's Sharks to service it's hockey needs, the San Fransisco Bulls will now play in Daly City, just outside of San Fransisco. The Bulls will play out of the the aptly named Cow Palace Arena.
San Fransisco, did have an IHL team called the San Fransisco Spiders, who where at one point rumoured to be coming to Victoria in the early 2000's. Heck, Spiders would have been a better name and logo than the Salmon Kings.
On the topic of the IHL, also joining the ECHL for next season, will be the Orlando Solar Bears. Formally a team in the old IHL, the new ECHL's Solar Bears will use the same logo and colours of there predecessor.
