Great Post Game Interview from Mike Mellings, interviewing the Grizzlies, Team Canada West Gold Medalist and four points hero tonight Wes Myron; after the Alberni Valley game:
Grizz Roar’s Roving Reporter Mike Mellings, caught up with Wesley Myron after the Victoria Grizzlies defeated Alberni Valley 6-3 with Myron notching a third period natural hat-trick.
Grizzlies Roar: Wesley that was quite a way too make your return to the line-up tonight.
Wesley Myron: Yeah what a great comeback victory. I couldn’t have asked for a better way to come back to the team. It was a great third period and a great finish.
GR: Let’s talk about the last couple of weeks for you and your commitment to Boston University.
WM: It’s definitely been a whirlwind tour, it’s been great to see what the next level will look like. It’s a great program at Boston University, I know it’s on the other side of North America but it had a great feel to it.
GR: Former Grizzlies forward Justin Courtnall attends Boston University did you get a chance to talk to him at all?
WM: I did, actually I went to dinner with him. I train with Justin in the summer.
GR: Of course you were just getting started next came the World Junior “A” Challenge. What was that experience like?
WM: It was great, it was an honor to be invited to camp and I just tried to make the best of that opportunity. It was an honor to pull on the Canadian sweater and I couldn’t have asked for better teammates in the short-term. Winning the gold medal was just the cherry on top.
GR: Any worries after losing the first two games?
WM: No, we never doubted our team I think the fans were more worried than any of the players. Our coaches mantra was to get better every game and that’s what we did.
GR: You’ve been centering one of the most productive lines in the BCHL this year with Wade Murphy and Jarryd Ten Vaanholt, tell us about that?
WM: It’s been clicking well the whole year, it’s been a great fit to play with those two guys and we don’t even really have to talk much out there now, it just feels natural.
