Langley Rivermen 6 -4 Victoria Grizzlies @Langley Events Centre, Nov 5th, 2011

Victoria would drop there third in a row and the 2nd on this road trip so far and are now a game below the .500 mark.
After the Wrath of God Rivermen would take a 5-0 lead in the first period thanks to goals from Puskarich, Moyer, Plevy, Tebbutt and Sutcliffe would really deflate this Victoria squad after one period. A tough start for Rockafellow, but, he would compose himself a bit more as the game went on.
Although getting plenty of shots on goal in the 2nd against an inform R'men goalie James Barr, the Grizzlies wouldn't make the back through until the third.
The intermission talk must have worked wonders, as the Grizzlies came out like a Scotsman hearing the bell for last orders.
Gehl would score the Grizzlies first of the night to pump a bit of life into the team. After peppering Barr's net, he would start to crack a little as wave after wave of Grizzlies attack would comulate in 3 goals in 4 minutes at the mid way mark of the 3rd with Holland, Ten Vaanholt and Bilious would make it an explosive bums on the edge of seats 5-4 Langley game.
The hard work and comeback was impressive, but the hole that was dug would come back to bite them as Langley would score an empty netter in the last minute for a 6-4 Victoria.
Credit to the boys for the comeback, to the fans and parents for cheering on the team. But, reality is, the Grizzlies can't afford to slip to far behind the pack and bouncing back against what looks like a revamped Express team in Coquiltam would put the Grizz back at the .500 mark.
What is a concern is the boys went 0 for 3 on the powerplay, that has to improve and fast.

Attendance - 588      Shots on Goal: Langley 27 and the Grizzlies 50 (good effort)
Power Play - Langley 1 for 4 and Grizzlies 0 for 3

Of Note:

Tony Burrows game report and pictures from the game will be on the Grizzlies offical facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=272895596085818&set=a.272895576085820.64334.167024846672894&type=3&theater

For the record I could not make the trip due to work commitments. Now I was at the Royals game listening to the Grizz game on my IPOD at the same time. As the Royals where getting beaten by the Giants, as I was one of the few jumping up and down in the crowd of 7,000 at the SOFA arena as the Grizzlies where making there comeback in the 3rd. The Giants, seemed to score about the same time the Grizzlies did in that period.....I was almost beaten up(one for the team  hey:)

No sign of Scott Renner on the Grizzlies squad and he didn't play last night. If Scott has indeed been traded(my spider sense is tingling at Chilliwack, where his hard work, crash and bang style would be a good Harvey Smyl fit), the best of luck to him. He's a player that can offer a lot at this level.
