Coquitlam Express 2-3 Victoria Grizzlies @ Poirier Arena, Nov 6, 2011

The Grizzlies got back to winning ways and salvaged this three game road swing by picking up two points against the Express.
The first period would see the Express take the lead after Alex Nardo found himself in space to score on the PP to make it 1-0 Express. With some chances and nice saves at either end by both goalies, the Grizzlies would finally get the powerplay monkey off there back a little as towards the end of the period Brad Gehl would step up and tie the game.
The 2nd period would see the Grizzlies start to capitalize on there chances as the topline would hustle hard to give the Grizzlies the lead thanks to the Ten Vaanholt who has thrived since his arrival on the Westhore. Moran and Murphy would get the helpers on this one. Towards the end of the 2nd after surviving a fair bit of pressure from the Express, at the end of the period Brad Gehl would score his third goal in two games to put the Grizzlies up 3-1. Woodyatt and Godinho would add the assists on the third marker.
3rd period, from what I hear was hectic at times and the Express kept plugging away at Tucker's goal. John Calvano's team would make it interesting after 5 minutes when dangerman Alex Patan would beat Jamie Tucker(who had a solid game tonight) with a little help from former Grizz utility man Taylor Love.
The Grizzlies would hold on in front of the 1000 plus fans at the Poirier arena, to snap there losing streak and take the ferry home with two points.

Game Thoughts:
Important win for the Grizzlies which keeps them in the pack and only 3 points behind the Eagles in first place. That being said, because of the joke that is the BCHL schedule his year, the Grizzles are on 20 games played this season and the 6th place Alberni Valley Bulldogs have 5 games in hand on Victoria and are only 3 points back. With the schedule being how it is and effecting all teams, the Grizzlies find themselves short on practice and then back in the mainland in Surrey next weekend after a game v's Alberni on Weds night. Nuts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Brad Gehl, looks to be getting his scoring touch going with 3 goals on the trip and Braxton Bilious had 3 points on the trip as well. Lawson and Holland would see some points during the roadtrip also.
Jarryd Ten Vaanholt may be the trade of the season if he keeps going at this rate.
Jamie Tucker, I enjoy his "take not s**t attitude" if an opponent encroaches on his crease. However, 15 penalty minutes on the season and four mins tonight, needs to be cut out!!!
